Our Corner of Paradise:
For over 30 years, we have been captivated by Creysseilles and its picturesque mountain scenery, charming stone hamlets, and the authenticity and friendliness of its people. In 1985, we had the privilege of discovering and acquiring this nearly ruined former farm, which we have gradually renovated. Our one-hectare property, situated on a ledge at an altitude of 700 meters, offers a perfect place to rest or unwind for a few days. You can enjoy the tranquility, breathtaking views, and hiking trails in Creysseilles and the neighboring towns. Our house is perfect for all seasons - from the vibrant spring flowers and the yellow broom-covered mountains to the pleasant summer heat by the pool, the autumnal golden landscape, and the cozy winter evenings by the fireplace with a cup of tea and a slice of gingerbread or baked kougelhopf. We offer two guest rooms on each side of our living space, and breakfasts and dinners prepared by the lady of the house are served in the dining room or on the terrace in the summer. We are excited to welcome you from May 1, 2013, and share our love for this corner of Ardèche. Martine and Jean-Paul Marchal, along with our pets: Allie and Mia (dogs), and Chestnut, Chatra, and Saddle (cats).

About the House:
Dating back to the seventeenth century, this old farmhouse has been extended over the years to accommodate our living needs. It consists of three interconnected buildings, residential housing vaults, a covered porch, a bread oven, and a courtyard enclosed by a gate. The high walls have been lowered to provide access to the pool and enjoy the stunning views. The land spans over 1 hectare of meadow and moor, and we have restored a garden with a pond fed by a spring five years ago.

Nearby Activities:
For those who enjoy walking or cycling, there is a network of hiking trails and low-traffic roads right outside our house. Within an hour or two, you can explore the Huguenots' Cave, an ancient carved stone tomb, the local church, the watchtower with its panoramic 360° view, or the Chirouze volcano. We have maps and guides of the area and are happy to provide recommendations based on your preferences. If you prefer to explore the area by car, Privas is 15 minutes away, Aubenas is 30 minutes away, Antraigues is 45 minutes away, Vallon Pont d'Arc is 1 hour away, and Mont Gerbier de Jonc is 1 hour and 15 minutes away. For lovers of local products, Privas offers chestnuts from Clement Faugier, charcuterie (stomachs, hams, dried mountain sausages), goat cheese (famous picodons), red Côtes du Rhône wines (Syrah, Merlot, etc.), and white wines (Chardonnay, Viognier, etc.).

Description for Gite

Welcome to "The Cocoon," a charming gite perfect for one or two people. Situated on the first floor, this cozy space spans over 40 m² and has been lovingly converted from a former hay barn. The layout includes a landing, a separate toilet, and a bathroom complete with a bathtub and shower.

Appréciations pour Les Chambres du Clair, Creysseilles:

Une semaine sereine et sympathique
Review by: Josette, Sep 20 2016 1:21PM
