Description for Gite

During your leisurely strolls and invigorating hikes, you will have the pleasure of discovering the enchanting village of Talmont-sur-Gironde, renowned as one of the most picturesque in all of France. Situated amidst the lush vineyards of Bordeaux, you will have the opportunity to indulge in the exquisite flavors of the region by sampling the world-class Bordeaux wines and exploring the magnificent chateaux that produce these fine vintages. Additionally, you will have convenient access to the stunning beaches of the area, including Royan, La Palmyre (home to a remarkable zoo), and La Tremblade.

For those with a fondness for culinary delights, a visit to Marennes and the Ile d'Oléron is an absolute must. Here, you can savor the freshest and most delectable oysters, mussels, and seafood, all expertly caught and cultivated along the Atlantic coast.

Immersed in a passion for French history, we have lovingly crafted La Demeure d'Aliénor as a tribute to the remarkable Aliénor d'Aquitaine, a prominent figure who once resided in this very region during the 12th century. Her enduring presence can be felt throughout the centuries, and we have infused the interior decor with elements inspired by her extraordinary life and legacy.

Please note that La Demeure d'Aliénor does not offer breakfast or meal services. However, for your convenience, a fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal, allowing you the freedom to prepare your own meals. Should you wish, we are more than happy to assist you by purchasing groceries based on your provided shopping list prior to your arrival at the Gite. Payment for these items can be made upon your arrival.
