Directions
Directions to Parleboscq:
To find Marsans Castel, use the GPS coordinates N43 55.300 E0 02.057 (WGS 84).
Driving in France can be different if you're not used to it. Remember that they drive on the opposite side of the road. Be cautious when starting off after a stop or turning right. French drivers tend to drive close to you, so avoid harsh braking. The flashing of headlights in France means "I am here and you must get out of my way," not "after you" like in the UK. Carry your driving license and all car documents to avoid on-the-spot fines. Speed limits in France are 50km/h (30mph) in towns, 90km/h (56mph) on ordinary roads, 110km/h (70mph) on dual carriageways, and 130km/h (81mph) on motorways.
Traffic jams can occur on autoroutes, especially at toll booths. Look out for signs that say "BOUCHON," indicating a jam ahead. Most autoroutes in France require payment, either a set price for a short distance or a ticket to be paid at the end of the trip. Look for lanes with a person taking the money at toll booths.
When traveling from Calais to Parleboscq, take the A16 autoroute towards Boulogne and Abbeville. At Abbeville, switch to the A28 autoroute towards Rouen, but then take the A29 autoroute towards Le Havre. Follow signs for "PONT de NORMANDIE" and continue on the autoroute to Caen. From Caen, follow signs for Rennes on the A84 autoroute. At Rennes, follow signs for Nantes on the N137 road. Near Nantes, follow signs for Bordeaux via the A83 autoroute. Eventually, the A83 will join the A10, which you should continue on until the toll booth just north of Bordeaux. After the tolls, follow signs for Toulouse and join the A62 autoroute. Take junction 5 towards Casteljaloux, Mont de Marsan, and Bergerac. After the toll booth, head to Casteljaloux and Mont de Marsan. Go through Casteljaloux, then Houeilles, and finally take a left at the sign for Barbotan, Gabarret, and Eauze. Continue on this road towards Eauze for 3 miles until you reach Parleboscq.
