La Source is located in a serene setting, just 2 kms away from the village of Saint Pierre DArgencon in the beautiful countryside of the Haut Buech. The picturesque Jouffan mountains provide a stunning backdrop to La Source, which is surrounded by 2 hectares of woodland containing sequoias, pines, walnut, and lime trees, creating a truly tranquil and relaxing environment. We offer five comfortable, clean, and well-maintained bedrooms for our guests. Breakfast is served in our newly renovated restaurant or on the sunny terrace. Guests also have access to a small kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, and television for the preparation of picnics and light meals. Our new restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy delicious meals, and we recommend making a reservation in advance.
For those who prefer camping, we have a small campsite with 25 pitches available. The campsite features clean separate toilet and shower blocks with English toilets and hot showers, as well as pot washing sinks. Electric hook ups and a BBQ area are also provided. Shops, restaurants, and other amenities can be found within a 2-12 km radius of La Source.
Located near our home is the GR 94 national walking route, making La Source an ideal refuge for walkers and hikers. The hang-gliding center, La Longeagne, is situated on the Jouffan mountains behind us, and there is a landing field at Saint Pierre DArgencon. Other nearby activities include climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, swimming, and fishing.
Gap, the capital city of the Hautes-Alpes, is located 40 km east of La Source. With its rich history spanning 2000 years and its appreciation for culture and nature, Gap and its surrounding area are definitely worth a visit. If you're willing to travel a bit further, you'll find the largest man-made lake in Europe, Serre-Poncon, just 15 minutes after Gap. Heading south from La Source, you'll come across the town of Sisteron, known for its well-preserved Citadel perched high on a rock. The fortress offers a magnificent 150 km view of the countryside from north to south, making it a must-see attraction.
