Description for B&B:
Queens Escape, located in Martel, France, is not only a charming bed & breakfast but also a remarkable wedding venue. Nestled within the magnificent Château de La Tuilerie, a historic castle constructed by a former mayor of Martel in 1820, this 200-year-old gem offers a unique experience. The name "Queens Escape" was inspired by the Belgian Queen and her royal family, who sought refuge here during the challenging times of World War II, while the king resided in a different château nearby. In the spirit of its historical significance, Queens Escape serves as a peaceful sanctuary, providing a respite from the modern world. Stepping foot onto the premises allows you to step back in time, immersing yourself in the tranquility of this expansive estate. To enhance the regal ambiance, each guest room within the castle is thoughtfully named after a great queen. From Margrethe, the Queen of Denmark, to Eleanor of Aquitaine, the esteemed former queen of not only France but also England, and even Catherine the Great, the luminous ruler of Russia, the rooms pay homage to these influential figures. Additionally, Cleopatra, the iconic Queen of the Nile, and Himiko, the esteemed former ruler of Wa (now Japan), are also featured. Excitingly, the Queen Elizabeth II bridal suite will soon be available, further adding to the grandeur and allure of Queens Escape.
