Description for B&B:
Experience the allure of MAISON 1780, a brand new, comfortable, and welcoming address that surprises guests with its audacious and refined decoration. Situated in Cournon d'Auvergne, between the Regional Natural Parks of Volcanoes and Livradois-Forez, MAISON 1780 is nestled in the heart of the Auvergne, a mere 15 minutes southeast of Clermont-Ferrand and only 5 minutes from the Zenith and the Grande Halle d'Auvergne. With its prime location, MAISON 1780 is the perfect base to explore the region's main attractions, all within an hour's reach.
The house itself is a haven of tranquility, hidden from view amidst lush greenery. This former winemaker farm, dating back to the 18th century, was fully restored in 2017. On the first floor, you will find three charming bedrooms named "BERRY," "POLLEN," and "POTIRON," with the latter being a spacious family suite. Each room opens onto a delightful garden adorned with fig trees, lilacs, lavenders, rosemary, and oleander. The soothing colors and thoughtful design of each room ensure a comfortable and peaceful stay.
The interior of the house seamlessly blends modern and traditional elements, from volcanic lava stone staircases and old fireplaces to lime-washed timber-framed walls and original oak floors. The mix of period furniture, designer pieces, and beloved objects creates a warm and inviting "family home" atmosphere.
Guests have access to spacious common areas, including a dining room and living room. The surrounding hills beckon visitors to explore, while loungers under the shade of fig trees or on the terrace provide a perfect spot for relaxation after a day of discovery.
Indulge in the gourmet and generous homemade breakfast, featuring a wide array of delights such as jams, pastries, organic bread and yogurts, local honey, cereals, fresh fruit, quality tea, and fruit juices. For dinner, reserve a spot at the table d'hôtes, where you can savor a delightful menu (45 euros per adult, wine included / 35 euros per child under 18), including a house cocktail, starter, main course, selection of regional cheeses, and dessert. The cuisine pays homage to seasonal produce and the culinary treasures of the region.
MAISON 1780 is the perfect place for travelers seeking a charming retreat in Auvergne. It's a secret address whispered among those who have discovered its magic, a real little paradise where only our animal friends are not permitted.
Nearby, history enthusiasts can explore the fortified old town, immersing themselves in the city's past. The narrow streets reveal the architectural heritage of the old winemaking villages, with their winemakers' houses, ancient cellars, and tons.
Nature lovers will appreciate the protected ecological site of the dry hillsides, characterized by limestone and volcanic mounds, while the Allier River, one of Europe's last wild rivers, is safeguarded for its fauna, flora, and water quality.
Additional amenities at MAISON 1780 include baby equipment for families, free Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs, desks, and complimentary mineral water in all rooms. Hairdryers, organic soaps, and shampoos are provided, and guests can relax in the lounge and library during the day. The terrace, garden furniture, and loungers offer a pleasant outdoor experience, and the enclosed garden provides free private parking right in front of the property.
