Description for B&B:

Our home, Ygeia or Hygieia, is named after the Greek Goddess of Health. Perhaps that's why we always feel so good when we're there!

We fell in love with this house back in 2009 and have been coming as often as possible ever since. We've put in all the work ourselves, except for major construction projects like the pool, which is why it's taking a bit longer to complete!

To help cover the costs and also share this amazing place with others, we decided to rent it out as a gite. We hope you have a fantastic time and enjoy the property just as much as we do!

We are delighted to welcome you to our charming traditional French country house. We've preserved its old-fashioned charm while adding modern fixtures for your comfort. Whether you're outside on the exceptional river terrace, exploring the lush green garden, or relaxing in the cozy and comfortable rooms, we're confident you'll love the house as much as we do.

Flaujagues, where our house is located, is only 15 kilometers away from St. Emilion, the famous medieval village and vineyards that have been designated as a UNESCO world heritage site. It's also just 50 kilometers from Bordeaux and about an hour and a half from the Atlantic coast and the Bassin d'Arcachon, renowned for its beaches and oysters, as well as the Medoc region, known for its excellent wines. Flaujagues lies in the Entre-deux-Mers, famous for its wines and vineyards, as well as its charming medieval villages and numerous hiking trails. Additionally, there are four golf courses nearby for those who enjoy the sport.

The southwest region of France is a gastronomic paradise, offering a wide range of dining options. From the Michelin-starred Hostellerie de Plaisance in St. Emilion to La Puce, a local restaurant frequented by vineyard workers, you'll find an amazing diversity of tastes. Whether you're in the mood for a juicy steak or the local specialty of la Lamproie (a type of fish), or even pigeon or oysters from Arguin, the choice is yours. We'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

If cooking is your passion, we can provide recommendations on where to find the best products and wines for your culinary adventures.

Our home is conveniently located between two international airports: Bergerac, which is 40 kilometers away and offers connections to England through Ryanair, and Bordeaux Merignac, which is 50 kilometers away.
