The property is located just minutes away from Auvillar, a medieval bastide village that offers stunning views of the Garonne valley. Considered one of the most beautiful villages in France, Auvillar is known for its unique circular corn exchange and its significance as a stop along the famous pilgrimage route, Le Chemin de Saint Jacques-de-Compostelle or Way of Saint James.Nestled in its own little valley, the house and grounds provide breathtaking views from every angle and are protected from strong winds. Surrounding the property are vast fields of sunflowers, creating a picturesque setting. Access to the property is through an impressive gravelled drive that winds through the expansive lawned gardens and orchard. The main complex, consisting of a large manor house and attached and detached stone outbuildings, boasts a rich history spanning over 200 years.
The meticulously maintained grounds, spanning over 5 acres, offer a range of amenities to enhance your stay. These include a private fishing lake, a walled saltwater swimming pool, a BBQ area, and a games room. With these features, your holiday escape is complete.

Description for Gite
This charming self-contained cottage was originally a Pigeonnier or dovecote. Its stone construction and East/West facing position ensure a tranquil and sunny setting. The cottage features stunning oak beamed and vaulted ceilings, adding to its character.Upon entering through the large double doors, you will find a spacious lounge and kitchen/diner. The fully equipped kitchen includes essential appliances such as a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, and cooker. Entertainment options include a 37" TV with Freesat, DVD player, CD player, and WiFi.
The two Super king/twin bedrooms are elegantly furnished with beautiful pieces and feature luxurious bedding, guaranteeing a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Each bedroom also includes large sofa/sofa beds and en suite bathrooms with delightful views of the sunny front garden and orchard.
For a breathtaking view of the evening sun, the private terrace faces west and can be accessed from either the kitchen or the path surrounding the property.
Please note that during the off-peak season, we can easily convert this cottage into a one-bedroom property.

Directions
To reach Le Farat, follow these travel directions:
1. Take the A62 motorway towards Toulouse/Bordeaux and exit at J8, which is signposted for Valence d'Agen.
2. At the junction, turn left onto the D953 road towards Auvillar.
3. At the first roundabout, take the first exit onto the D12 road towards Auvillar. You will notice a large boat in the middle of the roundabout and a swimming pool factory on the left.
4. Continue on the D12 road for approximately 2 miles until you reach a T junction.
5. At the T junction, turn right towards Auvillar.
6. Drive through the village, passing the clock tower on your left and a signpost to Bardigues on your right. Keep going, passing the church and the village hall (salles de fetes) on your left, and continue over the speed bumps and a small bridge.
7. Immediately after crossing the bridge, take the first right turn, which is signposted for Bardigues (4km) on the C2 road. Look for the Le Farat sign at the bottom of the property list.
8. Follow the road for approximately 4km. You will cross over the motorway and pass a market garden on your right. After a sharp bend to the right, you will see a reclamation yard on your left.
9. Go downhill through the woods, and as you emerge on the other side, you will spot Le Farat on your left.
10. The total distance from the motorway to Le Farat is approximately 10.2km, and the estimated travel time is 16 minutes.
