Directions from Cancun Airport to Villas DeRosa:
Upon leaving Cancun Airport, head east for approximately one mile. Look for highway #307, the only highway running north and south from Cancun to Tulum (continuing to the Belize border). Turn right and head south on #307 for about 65 miles (approximately 100 kilometers) until you reach the bays of Akumal.
During the drive, you will pass the pueblo of Puerto Morelos after 15 miles. Keep an eye out for one gas station and several bumps called "topes" on the highway. Topes can cause damage to your vehicle, so it's important to be cautious. They have signs next to them, but the paint on the bumps may be worn off, making them difficult to spot.
Continuing south for another 20 miles, you will reach Playa Del Carmen, the fastest growing city in the Americas. Stay in the center lanes if you want to pass through the city. If you need to stop at a larger grocery store, stay in the right lane section towards the end of the city, where you'll find a Soriana Mall across from Sam's Club.
After another 12 miles, you will pass the golfing community of Puerto Aventuras, which has two more gas stations. Be cautious of topes near the people crossing bridge on the highway.
Finally, after the last 12 miles, you will arrive in Akumal. The first Akumal exit you'll see is "Playa Akumal." Villas DeRosa is located 2 miles further south at the Aventuras Akumal exit. Look for a green road sign above the road that says "Villas DeRosa Resort." Turn left at this exit and you'll see the name Aventuras Akumal in green letters on the entrance wall. You must pass the entrance and drive a bit further south, just before the bridge of Bahia Principe, where you'll find a highway turn area. Turn around here and head back to the north towards Aventuras Akumal.
Once you reach Aventuras Akumal, follow the dirt road for about 1/4 mile. It will turn 90 degrees to your left, and you'll see houses on your right. Villas DeRosa is located on the center lots, numbered 35, 36, and 37. Look for signs indicating the condos, restaurant, rooftop bar, beach bar, and office.
