Description:

Description for B&B:

The Plessis Bellevue Manor, located in Saumur in the Loire Valley, is a historic eighteenth-century residence associated with Victor Hugo, the renowned poet, playwright, novelist, and politician (1802-1885). It was the home of his close friend and personal physician, Emile Leon-Allix (1836-1911), and Hugo himself stayed there on multiple occasions.
Recently renovated by Alain Nicolas and Veronique Coquema, the Bellevue Manor has been transformed into a charming guest house that seamlessly combines comfort with the traditional French "Art de Vivre". The property boasts a beautiful landscaped garden and a heated swimming pool that offers breathtaking views of the city of Saumur and the Loire River.
The main house features a spacious lounge with a library and a large dining room, along with five suites that exude historical elegance while offering all modern amenities such as private bathrooms or showers, WiFi, safes, satellite TVs, and flat screens.
In addition, the manor includes a cottage, which is a fully-equipped Gite de France with a lounge and three bedrooms, including one equipped for handicap accessibility.
The Victor Hugo flag hosts a billiard room with a French balcony and an Eiffel staircase that provides stunning views of the Loire River. This area also includes a designated smoking area with a cigar cellar, making it suitable for small receptions or events, with access to the carved Roc cellar known as "The Den Bacchus".
The Plantagenets flag is equipped with an indoor fitness spa that features a Jacuzzi, a massage room, and a table tennis table, adorned with paintings by contemporary masters.
The Plessis Bellevue Manor is the perfect venue for hosting local events and intimate receptions in its beautifully landscaped gardens, including weddings, birthdays, private seminars, and other special occasions.
