Our beautiful guest house, Locanda Gallo, is located in the heart of the Florentine historical center in the Quartiere San Lorenzo, one of the most important historical sectors of Florence. Situated in a traditional historical Florentine building from the 1400s, our guest house offers a characteristic and traditional experience.You will enter through a small entrance and ascend nice little stairs to reach our guest house, located on the 3rd floor of a historical palace that once hosted a part of the "Spedale dei Cavalieri di Malta".
In September 2007, we renovated our rooms and reception area. Currently, we offer a reception area where you can use our computer with free internet access. Our rooms include 2 four-bed private rooms with en suite bathrooms, 2 triple private rooms with en suite bathrooms (one with a kitchen corner), and 3 double private rooms with en suite bathrooms and kitchen corners.
All of our rooms are sunny, clean, and newly furnished. Each room has its own set of keys. Additionally, our rooms are private and equipped with en suite bathrooms, TV, free Wi-Fi internet access, and air-conditioning. We have no curfew, allowing you to come and go as you please. If you are planning a longer stay, our double rooms with kitchen corners are the ideal choice.
At Locanda Gallo, you can expect courtesy, cleanliness, good services, and a very central location. We offer the best prices in Florence. Our experienced and courteous staff will ensure you have a memorable stay in Florence. If you are looking for a standard, anonymous, and ordinary place, we are not the right choice for you.
Please note that we are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor without an elevator. Additional amenities and services we offer include TV with digital channels, fax service, room service (on request), linen hand towels, kitchen corners in the studios, hairdryers (available upon request), availability of a private tour guide, laundry service (only available for some rooms), booking museum tickets, bicycle rental, city maps, cell phone rental, free Wi-Fi internet connection in all rooms, cleaning service (from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm), personal safe, garage parking (extra charge of 15 euros per day), and a special arrangement with typical Florentine restaurants.

By Air:
From Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci of Florence, take the shuttle to Santa Maria Novella train station. Then, walk to via Nazionale and continue onto via XXV aprile. Turn right and go through via xxv aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. It should take about 10-15 minutes on foot.
By Train:
From Stazione Santa Maria Novella, it's only a 10-15 minute walk. Take the exit on the left for Piazza Adua, then walk to via Nazionale and continue onto via xxv aprile. Turn right and go through via xxv aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. Once on Via San Gallo, turn left and you'll find us at number 73. Look for the sign "Locanda Gallo."
By Car:
If you're coming from the north (Pisa or highways A1 Bologna-Milano and A11 Lucca-Genova), exit at Firenze Nord and follow the directions for the Center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. After passing under the underpass of Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and turn right at the first traffic light onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. There's a sign that says "Locanda Gallo."
If you're coming from the south (Siena or highway A1 Roma-Napoli), exit at Firenze Sud and follow the directions for the Center, then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. When you reach Piazza della Libertà, turn left at the first light and after the second light, take Viale Lorenzo il Magnifico, which is across from it and slightly to the right. At the first light, turn left onto Via Poliziano, and at the next traffic light, cross the street and keep right onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. There's a sign that says "Locanda Gallo."
