Description for B&B:

Experience a warm and inviting atmosphere at La Vieille Distillerie, a beautifully restored Maison de Maitre from the mid-nineteenth century, complete with its own former Cognac distillery.

During the winter months, our centrally heated house offers an even cozier welcome, with crackling log fires and delightful candlelit dinners.

Located in the enchanting south Charente region, there is an array of activities to enjoy. From indulging in cookery classes at the renowned Chez Cartier with Reza Mahammed, to visiting local Cognac distilleries and indulging in wine-tasting, golf, fishing, horse-riding, and bird-watching. Additionally, there are numerous historic towns and villages boasting captivating Chateaux and gardens waiting to be explored.

Nestled in the serene hamlet of Le Tatre, just 4 kms off the N10 route to the South and Spain, our location serves as a convenient stopover or an ideal base for discovering the breathtaking French countryside. Surrounded by picturesque vineyards, sunflower fields, and rolling landscapes, the tranquil roads provide the perfect setting for cyclists, walkers, and birdwatchers alike. Keep an eye out for the Hoopoe, Black Redstart, Serin, Black Kite, and Zetting Cisticole, all of which can be spotted in the Le Tatre area.

For those in search of a new home, we are ideally situated near the borders of three Departments - the Charente Maritime, the Gironde, and the Dordogne. Additionally, our house boasts a tennis court and a fishing lake just a few yards away. As an added bonus, our garden is overlooked by an impressive eleventh-century church, adding a touch of historical charm to your stay.

Appréciations pour La Vieille Distillerie, Le Tatre:

Pour une nuit
Review by: Rémy et Agnès , Sep 22 2019 7:27PM
